(Augusta) – The Maine Jump$tart Coalition for Personal Financial Literacy is pleased to announce that it is partnering with Next Gen Personal Finance (NGPF) to offer Maine teachers a free summer training opportunity. In August 2018, NGPF will be delivering three one-day personal finance professional development workshops around the state. Since its inception in 2014, NGPF has conducted dozens of FinCamp trainings across the country and, according to NGPF Founder and CEO Tim Ranzetta, the organization is excited for this chance to collaborate with Maine teachers.
NGPF, a non-profit based in California, is driven by its mission to support the financial wellbeing of America’s students. Its free high-school personal finance curriculum features engaging classroom resources to facilitate lifelong money habits among students. In addition to coordinating professional development events for teachers nationwide, NGPF also strives to create a space for financial education innovation. Its blog posts, podcasts, webinars and much, much more deliver relevant content to educators far beyond its headquarters in Palo Alto.
Maine’s FinCamp workshops will take place at three separate locations: August 8th in Portland at the University of Southern Maine; August 9th in Bangor at the Sheraton Hotel; August 10th in Bethel at Gould Academy. Each free workshop is identical, so select the date and location that suits you. Travel stipends, including overnight hotel accommodations, are also available upon request!
To register for one of these three training events, please visit the “Summer Trainings” page located under the “Training & Initiatives” tab.
