The mission of the Maine Jump$tart Coalition for Personal Financial Literacy is to improve the financial knowledge of Maine citizens, with a special focus on pre-K through college students, including adult learners. Working collaboratively, the Coalition seeks to increase awareness and provide training and support to Maine educators while also promoting educational resources and fostering communication among agencies and individuals who provide financial education to Maine families.
What We Do
The Maine Jump$tart Coalition is an independent affiliate of the national Jump$tart Coalition for Personal Financial Literacy. The national Jump$tart Coalition is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt non-profit organization headquartered in Washington, DC. Founded in 1995, the coalition includes more than 100 national partners and a network of 51 state affiliates that share a commitment to #afinlitfuture and to working collaboratively toward common goals.
Maine Jump$tart understands that K-12 educators play a significant role in shaping the financial future of Maine youth and our focus is to support Maine teachers, administrators and counselors through statewide training, advocacy, and efforts to increase awareness of quality financial education resources and experts.
