Augusta, ME (April 3, 2018) – The Maine Jump$tart Coalition for Personal Financial Literacy and its partners are on a mission to create a financially literate future (#afinlitfuture) and believe it is “Within our Reach.”
Financial Literacy Month (#FLM2018), sometimes also referred to as Financial Capability Month, has been celebrated each April since 2000. Throughout the month, events and activities focus on raising public awareness about the importance of financial literacy and the need for financial education, celebrate individual and collective achievements in the effort, and address new and evolving issues in the field. This year, the Maine Jump$tart Coalition will focus its events using the theme: “Within our Reach: #afinlitfuture.”
“Over the past 20 years, we have made great strides laying the ground work in effective financial education and financial literacy awareness,” said Mary Dyer, President of the Maine Jump$tart Coalition.
Financial Literacy Month is recognized across the country by organizations large and small, with a wide variety of event and initiatives that focus on financial education and financial literacy.
