The mission of the Maine Jump$tart Coalition for Personal Financial Literacy is to improve the financial knowledge of Maine citizens, with a special focus on pre-K through college students, including adult learners. Working collaboratively, the Coalition seeks to increase awareness and provide training and support to Maine educators while also promoting educational resources and fostering communication among agencies and individuals who provide financial education to Maine families.
What We Do
Maine Jump$tart is a statewide, all volunteer, non-profit association dedicated to improving financial capability in Maine. We are also a proud state affiliate of the National Jump$tart Coalition for Personal Financial Literacy. The National Jump$tart Coalition, based in Washington, D.C., was first convened in 1995 and consists of over 200 organizations committed to improving the financial literacy of America’s youth.
Maine Jump$tart understands that K-12 educators play a significant role in shaping the financial future of Maine youth and our focus is to support Maine teachers, administrators and counselors through statewide training, advocacy, and efforts to increase awareness of quality financial education resources and experts.
